We here at the Cactus Blog will be doing our part by boycotting all Arizona cactus stories.
Here’s a Chihuahuan Desert cactus for you instead.
Echinocereus triglochidiatus var. gurneyi is a tightly clumping hedgehog cactus. This high altitude subspecies grows in the rocky outcrops of the southern New Mexico highlands.

Awwww, I know you mean well but don’t politicize the plants. They can’t vote and can’t help where they grow.

No saguaros for you!
Really now, boycotting AZ plants because our governer doesn’t understand either human nature or the law? That’s just silly.

I’m not boycotting the plants, just the stories coming from the state’s newspapers.
However, I won’t be doing any buying trips in Arizona.
(And the Saguaro grows in California too.)

Oy. What have I started?
How about this. For the rest of this year, since you’re already there, while you are still in AZ, I will post your photos. But next year is a different story…
And by the way, don’t cross those Arizona sheriffs. They can take you to jail now unless you have your birth certificate handy.
