CACTUS AND SUCCULENT LABYRINTH

Up in the hills above Napa Valley, overlooking Lake Berryessa, we installed this 45ft. diameter cactus and succulent labyrinth as a memorial for our client's mother. The garden contains hundreds of small cactus and fields of groundcover succulents, all of which needed to be hardy enough to withstand the Napa freezes and a complete lack of any watering.

The design is based on the Chartre labyrinth, inset.

Installed in the fall, we came back in the spring and added more cactus that couldn't be installed just before winter. The client provided the center seat rock, and we brought in the smaller boulders.
